Overview

Swap the city for one of the strangest, most beautiful landscapes on earth. This two-day safari from Cairo takes you deep into Egypt's Western Desert — through the palm-fringed Bahariya Oasis, across the volcanic Black Desert, past the glittering quartz of Crystal Mountain, and into the White Desert National Park, where wind-carved chalk formations rise from the sand like a field of frozen sculptures.

After a morning pickup from your Cairo or Giza hotel, you'll travel to Bahariya and transfer to a dedicated 4x4 jeep for the desert itself. As the sun sets over the White Desert, your Bedouin guides set up camp, cook a traditional BBQ dinner over the fire, and you spend the night under one of the clearest, most star-filled skies you'll ever see. In the morning you'll wake to sunrise among the chalk towers before the drive back to Cairo.
