The experience
An introductory dive is a briefing on land, the basic skills in shallow water, and then a dive with an instructor beside you the whole way. No certification is required and no experience is assumed.
Marsa Mubarak suits it particularly well: the bay is shallow, sheltered and has almost no current, and its seagrass meadows mean there is something to look at from the first minute - green turtles feed there routinely. Equipment and the instructor are included, and a medical declaration is completed before you dive.
