The experience

The balloon launches before sunrise on the west bank, which is the point: from the basket the Valley of the Kings, the Ramesseum and Hatshepsut's terraces read as one connected landscape in a way they never do from the ground.

After landing the day continues on foot with your guide through the west bank sites and, depending on timing, across to the east bank temples. Seeing them after the flight changes how they sit in your head.

Balloon flights depend entirely on wind and visibility and are cancelled by the operator when conditions are wrong — that is a safety decision, not an inconvenience. Entrance fees are collected locally.
