The experience

An introductory dive is exactly that: a briefing on land, the basic skills in shallow water, then a dive with an instructor holding your progress the whole way. No certification is required and no prior experience is assumed.

Marsa Mubarak is a good place for it — shallow, sheltered and with little current — and the seagrass beds mean there is something to look at from the first minute. Equipment and the instructor are included. A medical declaration is required, and some answers on it need a doctor's sign-off.
